STJSW 2 - 2 SKSP

Days before kickoff, the manager of SKSP claimed in the press that STJSW should plan for a manager change, as the current one wasn't able to bring out the best in the squad.

It had rained all day, but 1712 hardy fans still made it out to STJSW Arena. David Meybauer was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Yannick Petite and Christopher Stanton. The pitch was a disaster, due to all the rain. This spelled problems for the more sophisticated players, who usually could rely on speed or technique. For those relying on grit and strength, it actually meant an edge. Starters: Knaga - Siemieniec, Walenda, Chałat, Dopierała - Juszczak, Wiąckiewicz, Matwiejczyk, Kozieł - Smolicha, Brom.

Lineup: Reinhart - Kapuścik, Orzeszek, Maleszka - Fluder, Sienkiewicz, Kołaczyk, Markowicz, Kesler - Thuilliez, Drozdalski.

STJSW started the game in a 4-4-2 formation, whereas Stawny Klub Sportowy Paśnik lined up in a 3-5-2 formation. SKSP immediately set off using their passable skill at pressing their opponents. The most controversial moment of the game was likely the penalty given after 7 minutes. SKSP's Sylvain Thuilliez kept his concentration, despite the upset crowd, and calmly put the ball past the keeper to make the score 0 - 1. 9 minutes in, and STJSW were able to score the equalising goal to make it 1 - 1 when Witold Brom picked up a pass coming in from the right and chipped it past the away team's keeper. STJSW's Jakub Wiąckiewicz was shown a yellow card after 17 minutes for slicing down an opponent. Andrzej Markowicz was unable to continue, following a slight injury to his right knee after 17 minutes. Marek Sumera had already been warming up, and came on for Andrzej Markowicz. SKSP took the lead 38 minutes into the game, making the score 1 - 2 after some elegant movement down the middle. Maciej Sienkiewicz was the scorer. No matter how hard he tried, Rudolf Walenda just couldn't get his shot past the visitors' right side defence after 39 minutes. STJSW's Daniel Smolicha was shown a yellow card for standing over the ball and blocking an opponent's quick free kick after 40 minutes. The home crowd cheered when, after 40 minutes, Apoloniusz Orzeszek's charge up the middle resulted in the keeper making one of his best saves of the day. It emerged that Antoni Juszczak had hurt his left foot after 41 minutes, which led him to abandon the game. The replacement for the injured player was Martyn Kostrowski. At this time in the match, SKSP were using their skill at pressing to successfully stifle the game. STJSW's Kajetan Siemieniec refused to leave the field despite hurting his back 43 minutes into the match. 1 - 2 was the score after the first half. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by STJSW, with 60 percent of the ball.

The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave Jacek Chałat from STJSW a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 56 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! The SKSP players could smell victory in the air. Damian Kesler wasn't in a hurry to leave the field as he was substituted for Piotr Koziarski after 59 minutes. Apoloniusz Orzeszek left the field with a smile on his face as he was substituted 71 minutes into the game, as his team was in the lead. Edmund Masztelarz was the replacement. Given a free kick close to the byline, STJSW tried a move that loyal fans may recognise from training. A pass to the side pulled the defence out of position which let Witold Brom slip through on goal. He didn't have to break his stride, and slipped the ball past the keeper to make it 2 - 2, 74 minutes into the game. Arkadiusz Maleszka had a good opportunity to give SKSP the lead as he charged down the right and struck the ball towards the top corner, but the home team's goalkeeper made the save. Maciej Sienkiewicz was unable to continue, following a slight injury to his left knee after 80 minutes. The coach had his head in his hands, as he realised he could not send a replacement onto the pitch. The team had to continue a man short. It was announced by the referee that he estimated stoppage time to be around 2 minutes. This meant there could still be an extra attack or two left in the match! The match ends 2 - 2. Possession in this half belonged to STJSW, who controlled the ball 60 percent of the time.

Most important STJSW player was Jędrzej Matwiejczyk. Wiktor Knaga turned in a dismal performance, however. SKSP's best player was Piotr Koziarski. Aurélien Reinhart on the other hand, had a terrible day.
