MSO 0 - 1 Brann

3266 spectators had found their way to MS Park, despite the heavy rain. was the appointed referee with assistance provided by and Bartłomiej Bedra. MSO decided to use a 2-5-3 set up. Starters: Ernst - Gilsing, Pilgaard - Berg, Susekoppel, Lauersen, Billich, Hansson - Beckmann, Dichmann, Zanaty.

Brann tactics involved an interesting 4-4-2 combination. The following players took the field: de Sousa - Grogg, Wunderlin, Sereda, Götterup - Martinho, Lesueur, Dejaegher, Sandve - Aarhus, Kurtov.

Pressing was the tactic of the day for MSO, taking advantage of their passable level with that tactic. Brann focused on getting players in position for long range shots, taking advantage of their weak level with that tactic. After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, Arnold Beckmann got himself booked. The manager of MSO was not happy. 17 minutes in, MSO's Heino Lauersen received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. After 18 minutes, there was a bit of a mixup on the field as MSO found themselves out of position and their organisation level dropped to weak. Rune 'Husi' Sandve's speed is always a threat when he gets a little room to move, and 19 minutes into the match was no different as he broke free of his man to send a delightful through ball to Tom Aarhus who knocked it in for Brann. 0 - 1! The muddy pitch made the game a gritty affair, which seemed to suit Scott Dejaegher just fine. Had it not been for one of the home defenders, Eugen Grogg would have put Brann up another goal 32 minutes into the match with his audacious lob from the right wing. Brann's Rune 'Husi' Sandve left the field after 40 minutes because of a nasty blow to the shin. His replacement was Olivio Couceiro. As the captain was no longer on the pitch, Eugen Grogg took over the role of being the Brann captain. 0 - 1 was the score after the first half. Brann enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 64 percent of possession.

Despite his frustration resulting in the smashing of a few teacups, the coach of MSO was able to get his message across, and raised MSO's organisation to passable. At this time in the match, MSO were using their skill at pressing to successfully stifle the game. Brann's Olivio Couceiro refused to leave the field after injuring his achilles tendon after 59 minutes. Anton Ernst got a fingertip on Ilija Kurtov's shot from the left 73 minutes in, and managed to keep the visitors from going up another goal. 74 minutes in, MSO appeared unsure on how to play and their organisation was only poor. MSO's ability to press all over the field frequently paid dividends. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Brann, with 68 percent of the ball.

The most dominating MSO player was without a doubt David Gilsing. On the other hand, Iver Dichmann's play was disheartening. Olivio Couceiro performed admirably for Brann. However, Ilija Kurtov made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 0 - 1.
