BorQblow 3 - 4 Karak

3492 spectators arrived at KadaverDome, where weather conditions were pretty good for football. Klemens Hüttenphul was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Patrik Almerberg and . A 2-5-3 alignment was the formation of choice for BorQblow. The following players had been chosen: van Hulst - Matits, Macedo Pereira - 神谷 (Kamiya), Dertli, Last, Mulderij, Dill - Sicolo, Mørkved, Rietman.

Karak tactics involved an interesting 5-4-1 combination. Starters: Khar - Kumar, Dikholakar, Rastogi, Mashelkar, Oliveira Abreu - Sabesan, Ghosh, Zaman, Patel - Gameiro.

23 minutes into the game, BorQblow seemed to suffer a certain amount of confusion and they fell to a passable level of organisation. BorQblow's Attila Matits tried to break through in the middle repeatedly, but couldn't get past the visitors' defenders. Karak's defence sent a ball soaring up the middle on a beautiful counterattack with 30 minutes gone, but Shailesh Mashelkar's finish was met by the reaching hands of the keeper. After 32 minutes Karak's Kevin Gameiro limped slightly after a late challenge, but he was able to continue. After 38 minutes, Karak put themselves up 0 - 1, as Rameez Zaman finished off a strike from the left with a real cannonball of a shot. 40 minutes in, BorQblow appeared unsure on how to play and their organisation was only weak. It was 0 - 1 at the break. BorQblow claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 62 percent.

The coach gave his players an extra tactical briefing during the break, and after that BorQblow had solid organisation. After 54 minutes, there was a bit of a mixup on the field as BorQblow found themselves out of position and their organisation level dropped to passable. 克秀 (Katsuhide) 神谷 (Kamiya) charged down the left and had a wonderful opportunity to score the equaliser for BorQblow, but the shot went well wide of the goal. 61 minutes into the game, BorQblow seemed a little tentative in their play as their organization fell to inadequate. 75 minutes in, and BorQblow were able to score the equalising goal to make it 1 - 1 when Alfonso Rietman picked up a pass coming in from the right and chipped it past the away team's keeper. A spectacular volley from Karl Mørkved almost resulted in a goal, but a good save from the keeper kept it out, and Hans Dill could only knock the loose ball wide. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by BorQblow, with 66 percent of the ball.

With the scores being level after 90 minutes, the match went into extra time. During the break, BorQblow's coach went through the team's tactics yet again, getting them up to solid organisation. 100 minutes into the game, BorQblow had difficulty finding their positions and their organisation dropped to inadequate. There was still no winner after 30 minutes of extra time so the teams had to select a lineup for a penalty shoot-out to settle the result.

BorQblow's 克秀 (Katsuhide) 神谷 (Kamiya) didn't hesitate but Sher 'Khan' Khar managed the save, resulting in an unchanged 1 - 1 score. Karak's Kevin Gameiro looked nervous even as he was putting the ball on the spot. He didn't take much of a run up, and his weak shot was easily saved by the keeper. BorQblow's Fahri Dertli looked like he knew exactly where he wanted to put the ball, but unfortunately his shot went wide of the left hand post. Still 1 - 1. Karak's Anselmo Oliveira Abreu was relaxed as he smoothly put the ball in the net. 1 - 2! BorQblow's Meelis Last kept his cool as he faced down Sher 'Khan' Khar. His composure paid off as he scored easily for 2 - 2. Oooh - how unlucky! Karak's Chintan Kumar attempt hit the underside of the bar, but rebounded down into the grateful arms of Roelant 'Rechtsbank' van Hulst. The score stays 2 - 2. BorQblow's Hans Dill made no mistake. Sher 'Khan' Khar didn't have a chance. 3 - 2. Karak's Nirbhay Rastogi coolly put the ball past Roelant 'Rechtsbank' van Hulst. 3 - 3. Clearly nervous from the start, BorQblow's Etienne Mulderij took a long run up, but could only blast the ball over the bar. The score remains 3 - 3. Karak's Shailesh Mashelkar showed he has nerves of steel when it comes to penalties, easily changing the score to 3 - 4. Most important BorQblow player was Karl Mørkved. Roelant 'Rechtsbank' van Hulst was a disappointment, however. Karak's top performer was clearly Shailesh Mashelkar. Kartikeya 'Peacock' Sabesan turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 3 - 4.
