Dark skies made the crowd of 1772 at Springfield Park a little nervous, but the rain held off. Sverre Malvik was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Kanda Chinda and Séverin 'La taupe' Oke. Rochdale decided to use a 5-4-1 set up. Starters: Krústev - Huart, Puay Long, Colbourne, 子楠 (Zinan), Szachta - Agrawal, Sumerel, Sánchez Barriga, Craner - Golovnya.

A 5-5-0 alignment was the formation of choice for BROTHERHOOD. The following players took the field: Vogel - Bjerrum, Wakelam, Schermann, Saveljeff, Şchiopu - Al-Jashmy, Weiss, 茨栋 (Cidong), Radigue, Borromeo -.

Rochdale were relying on their formidable ability to counter-attack. 29 minutes into the match and the home team took a 1 - 0 lead after breaking through on the left. The scorer for Rochdale was 方 (Fang) 子楠 (Zinan). The home side's Charles 'Charlie Boy' Colbourne curled a free kick home after 37 minutes, putting Rochdale ahead 2 - 0. Rochdale had to make a substitution after 39 minutes. Garth 'Vader' Sumerel limped off the field and was replaced by Dean 'The Guv'nor' Yates. Rochdale's Mark Craner swung in a good chance from the left, but the visitors' defence were able to clear the ball. With 41 minutes of the game having been played, Aurelian Şchiopu received a blow to the hip in a collision and was unable to continue. BROTHERHOOD, with no available replacements, now faced the prospect of finishing the game with a reduced number of players. The home side's Mark Craner came close to extending the lead 42 minutes into the game. His shot came in from the right hand side but Roland Vogel managed to save it with an unbelievable reaction stop. It was 2 - 0 at the break. Rochdale enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 65 percent of possession.

Morgan 'Sweet' Huart could have increased the lead after 49 minutes, but his shot hit the post after a nice combination in the middle of the park. With 72 minutes played, Gorka Sánchez Barriga could have brought this one home for Rochdale as he charged up on the left, but his hooked ball went just a bit too high. A scuffle developed as players from both sides clashed following a tussle in the centre of the field 78 minutes into the match. After regaining order and consulting his linesman, the referee called Rochdale's Gorka Sánchez Barriga to one side and produced a red card for the player. The player down was Karlo Saveljeff. The BROTHERHOOD bench looked worried for a while, but in the end he managed to get up. After 82 minutes, Rochdale's Charles 'Charlie Boy' Colbourne found the back of the goal with a beautiful free kick. 3 - 0. Rochdale claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 68 percent.

Rochdale's top performer was clearly Myroslav Golovnya. Morgan 'Sweet' Huart on the other hand, had a terrible day. BROTHERHOOD's best player was Francesco Borromeo. Vagner Weiss turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 3 - 0.
