MSO 0 - 5 Rochdale

3683 spectators had come to MS Park this cloudy day. was the appointed referee with assistance provided by and Claus Rindsfüser. MSO tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination. Starters: Baggio - Hansson, Gilsing, Pilgaard - Zanaty, Susekoppel, Lauersen, Billich, Berg - Beckmann, Ernst.

A 5-4-1 alignment was the formation of choice for Rochdale. Lineup: Krústev - Szachta, Puay Long, Colbourne, 子楠 (Zinan), Huart - Persico, Pajak, Agrawal, Lukić - Golovnya.

MSO were relying on their solid ability to counter-attack. Using their counter-attacking abilities was the strategy of choice for Rochdale on this day, taking advantage of their outstanding level with that tactic. 28 minutes into the game MSO managed a counterattack, but Bjarke Pilgaard took a soft shot from the left flank that was easy prey for the alert keeper. Željko Lukić's early cross saw the defenders caught out of position and the alert Myroslav Golovnya was able to pounce and roll the ball past the hapless goalkeeper to score for Rochdale. 0 - 1. The corner kick from Charles 'Charlie Boy' Colbourne was powerfully met by the head of Nitin Agrawal to make the score 0 - 2. Niwat Junseemui was called on to replace MSO's Anton Ernst after 43 minutes following a nasty collision. Damiano Persico of Rochdale took advantage of a mistake on the home side's right after 44 minutes which increased the away team's lead to 0 - 3. Halftime score was 0 - 3. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Rochdale, with 63 percent of the ball.

Rochdale's Damiano Persico had to watch the rest of the game from the sidelines, after twisting his ankle with 54 minutes having been played. Dean 'The Guv'nor' Yates was the replacement. After 82 minutes, an incisive pass through the middle gave Željko Lukić a chance to increase the lead for Rochdale, and he did not disappoint. The score was then 0 - 4. MSO's Jannik Berg left the field after 85 minutes because of a nasty blow to the shin. His replacement was Bruno Garcia. After 87 minutes, Rochdale's Chris Pajak burst through the central defence and let loose a cannonball of a shot, scoring for 0 - 5. Confident in their lead, Rochdale's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it. Rochdale had most of the ball, with 56 percent of possession.

The most dominating MSO player was without a doubt Paolo 'Goldenboy' Baggio. On the other hand, Bjarke Pilgaard's play was disheartening. Rochdale's top performer was clearly Myroslav Golovnya. Morgan 'Sweet' Huart was a disappointment, however. The match ends 0 - 5.
