Clear skies welcomed the 1898 spectators who had made their way to Where the Wild Roses Grow. Fernando Rey was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Tsugahara Tanaka and Günther Noltein. Bergamot had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. The following players had been chosen: Azzi - Cesareo, Stancarone, Polizzi - Salici, Felici Ridolfi, Carbonaro, Inversi, Robescu - Boccassi, Galeazzo.

A 2-5-3 alignment was the formation of choice for Bellevue. The following players took the field: Turagabea - Văn Cao, Filipović - May, Charmawawina, Tuqiri, Riisager, Lancaster - Whitaker, Chan, Navakamocea.

Bergamot were relying on their solid ability to counter-attack. After 2 minutes, Bellevue's Noel Navakamocea made his way through the middle and nonchalantly placed the ball out of the keeper's reach, putting the visitors up 0 - 1. Chester Tuqiri was, after 26 minutes, almost able to extend the visitors' lead with a well placed diving header after the ball had looped into the centre, but the home side's keeper Libero Azzi made the save. Bergamot's Florin-Marius Robescu made a successful breakthrough on the left after 28 minutes and should have levelled the score, but instead he clipped it over the bar. Bellevue's defence sent a ball soaring up the middle on a beautiful counterattack with 29 minutes gone, but Cô Văn Cao's finish was met by the reaching hands of the keeper. Bergamot's Florin-Marius Robescu put his head to a high ball coming in from the right after 31 minutes, but the ball went wide. Bergamot's Adolfo Galeazzo got himself booked for a foul. Brendon Chan made a nice dash down the wing after 37 minutes, but was unable to get the cross into the box. A goal kick was awarded. 0 - 1 was the score after the first half. Bellevue enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 59 percent of possession.

The coach of Bellevue was happy with the game so far, but still wanted to change the line up. After 46 minutes, Joshua Kimera came on for Caleb Charmawawina. The bench was restless, and with 60 minutes passed Bergamot's coach gave Guglielmo Scuffi the opportunity the player had been hoping for. Mario Boccassi reluctantly left the field. With 76 minutes played, seemingly due to lack of experience, Giancarlo Carbonaro needlessly tripped an opponent just outside the penalty area, but the free kick that followed didn't succeed. After 80 minutes, Bergamot switched Giancarlo Carbonaro with Johnny Birindelli, hoping for a quick impact on the pitch. Davide Luigi Salici was just a finger's breadth away from an equaliser for Bergamot with a strike from the left, but Bronx Turagabea managed to ward the shot off for a corner. David May made a quick rush after 88 minutes, but Basilio Polizzi had no problems keeping up the pace and stopped the attack. A penalty was awarded after 89 minutes, and Cô Văn Cao made the most of his chance to put Bellevue up by another goal. 0 - 2 for the visitors. After this, you could see that the players of Bellevue were more interested in killing time than scoring more goals. Bellevue's Kosta 'Crush' Filipović was shown a yellow card after 89 minutes for slicing down an opponent. Bergamot claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 55 percent.

The most dominating Bergamot player was without a doubt Libero Azzi. On the other hand, Cesare Inversi's play was disheartening. Bellevue's best player was Cô Văn Cao. Brad Riisager was a disappointment, however. The match ends 0 - 2.
