2176 spectators had found their way to Estádio das Laranjeiras, despite the heavy rain. William Frisullo was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Przybysław Zadzielak and Milan Skriver. Tricolor tactics involved an interesting 4-5-1 combination. They fielded: Tarawaly - Hodgton, Martin, Ralson, Smithson - Rahim, Rutherford, Sweeney, Adkins, Viem - Lynch.

A 5-5-0 alignment was the formation of choice for Wirschtlstand. Lineup: Faro - Iordăchioaie, Rosenberg, 迪鸿 (Dihong), Gilson, Artamonov - Giese, Cubells, Csicsák, Dutheil, Bonci -.

Using their counter-attacking abilities was the strategy of choice for Tricolor on this day, taking advantage of their formidable level with that tactic. The wings were the focus of most of Wirschtlstand's attacks on this day, taking advantage of their divine (+1) level with that tactic. 2 minutes into the match, the referee signalled for a Wirschtlstand substitution. Kristijan Ljubinković came on for Paolo Faro. Thighs bulging, Andrei Iordăchioaie charged past the weaker players, seemingly oblivious to the rain. After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, Abe 'Superstar' Lynch got himself booked. The manager of Tricolor was not happy. Rob Viem was struggling to make the ball dance with his usual trickery and panache, and the opposing players had little trouble shutting him down in these muddy conditions. Wirschtlstand took the lead after 31 minutes making the score 0 - 1. Fabio 'Sadist' Bonci placed the ball out of reach for the home side's keeper after a fine move, coming in from the left. 0 - 1 was the halftime score. Wirschtlstand enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 57 percent of possession.

Zachary Rosenberg, who often relies on his speed, had a rotten day on the drenched grass. Gábor Csicsák could have added one to the visitors' lead if his free kick had gone just a little lower. It was obvious that Wirschtlstand had instructions to attack on the wings instead of in the middle. After the ball was lifted in from the left, David Dutheil was on his own in the home side's penalty area and should have scored after 69 minutes, but missed, probably due to lack of concentration. With 70 minutes played, Alan Sweeney of Tricolor fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee was unimpressed, and booked him for diving. Tricolor's Rob Viem left the field after 75 minutes because of a nasty blow to the shin. His replacement was Louis 'Fabulous' Palmer. The coach of Wirschtlstand was happy with the game so far, but still wanted to change the line up. After 77 minutes, Noah Bogh came on for Gábor Csicsák. With Gábor Csicsák no longer on the pitch, Noah Bogh took over free kick duty. After 79 minutes of game time, David Dutheil had an excellent opportunity to add to the visitors' lead, clipping a volley hooked in from the right, but Solomon 'Warrior' Tarawaly was in the right place and tipped the ball over for a corner. 82 minutes into the game, Wirschtlstand had difficulty finding their positions and their organisation dropped to passable. The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave Jean-Louis Giese from Wirschtlstand a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 86 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! In a fantastic display of determination, Tricolor's Abe 'Superstar' Lynch forced himself to his feet, after an opponent viciously knocked him down. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Tricolor, with 54 percent of the ball.

Most important Tricolor player was Alan Sweeney. On the other hand, Louis 'Fabulous' Palmer's play was disheartening. The most dominating Wirschtlstand player was without a doubt Andrei Iordăchioaie. However, Kristijan Ljubinković made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 0 - 1.
