EVILinc 2 - 1 Brann

Clear skies welcomed the 3443 spectators who had made their way to Somerville Super Stadium. Enrico Chiriatti was the appointed referee with assistance provided by and Hanns-Ulrich Heilbronner. EVILinc tactics involved an interesting 2-5-3 combination. They fielded: Murphy - Chí Minh, Roberts - Guest, Koula, Baratović, Faulkner, Berger - Hutton, McMullan, Skipper.

Brann had chosen a strategic 4-4-2 formation. Lineup: de Sousa - Grogg, Wunderlin, Verstappen, Götterup - Martinho, Lesueur, Dejaegher, Sandve - Aarhus, Kurtov.

Brann was determined to use their weak long shot ability. Given a free kick close to the byline, EVILinc tried a move that loyal fans may recognise from training. A pass to the side pulled the defence out of position which let Stewart Hutton slip through on goal. He didn't have to break his stride, and slipped the ball past the keeper to make it 1 - 0, 21 minutes into the game. 37 minutes into the game Brann's Ilija Kurtov found a gap in the home side's central defence and scored with a fabulous shot, making it 1 - 1. Making his way up the middle 42 minutes into the match, Mitchell Berger almost managed to squeeze a goal past the visitors' keeper, but the alert Sabino Fernando de Sousa blocked it to keep the score level. It was 1 - 1 at the break. EVILinc claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 75 percent.

Alexander Roberts of EVILinc seemed to be floating in the air as he elegantly headed in to make the score 2 - 1 after a corner kick that was nicely executed by Lê Chí Minh. With 62 minutes played, Miroslav Baratović could have brought this one home for EVILinc as he charged up on the left, but his hooked ball went just a bit too high. After 64 minutes, a couple of quick and successful challenges followed by a shot from just outside the penalty area by Mitch Koula might have resulted in another goal for EVILinc. However, Sabino Fernando de Sousa made a spectacular save. EVILinc's Kody Guest swung in a good chance from the left, but the visitors' defence were able to clear the ball. Scott Dejaegher received some harsh words from his coach after he acted foolishly 71 minutes into the match, probably out of lack of experience, and almost let an opponent score. Lê Chí Minh of EVILinc received a yellow card after 72 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour. EVILinc's Mitch Koula placed the ball right at his teammate's feet after a corner, but Mitchell Berger couldn't finish. Although the whole team were struggling to impress, Brann's Rune 'Husi' Sandve was singled out as being the problem as he was called off the pitch after 85 minutes. Robbert Jan Bertieaux was given a chance to change things around. Seth Verstappen was the new captain of Brann - handed the armband by the departing player. The coach of EVILinc was happy with the game so far, but still wanted to change the line up. After 89 minutes, Tika Tuckey came on for Miroslav Baratović. The EVILinc players could smell victory in the air. Ian Faulkner wasn't in a hurry to leave the field as he was substituted for Wally Mueller after 89 minutes. Content with how the game was proceeding, the EVILinc coach let Moe Harwood replace Mitch Koula after 89 minutes. EVILinc had most of the ball, with 65 percent of possession.

Most important EVILinc player was Stewart Hutton. Ross Murphy was a disappointment, however. Brann's best player was Eugen Grogg. Bobby Wunderlin turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 2 - 1.
