1975 spectators arrived at Where the Wild Roses Grow, where weather conditions were pretty good for football. George Carpiuc was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Örjan Nilsson and . A 5-4-1 alignment was the formation of choice for Bergamot. Starters: Gioda - Badocchi, Carbonaro, Salici, Felici Ridolfi, Mola - Scanferla, Cioncolini, Dalbon, Cesareo - Marrazzo.

Langer had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. The following players had been chosen: Alvarez - Kumar, Muralidharan, Kumaraswamy - Świtoń, Walvi, Sonkusare, Thakur, Garbeck - Kapoor, Kumar.

Using their counter-attacking abilities was the strategy of choice for Bergamot on this day, taking advantage of their magnificent level with that tactic. With 24 minutes played, the visitors broke through on the right after some poor defending. Rakshan Kumar put the ball away for 0 - 1. Bergamot's Marco Marrazzo was shown a yellow card for standing over the ball and blocking an opponent's quick free kick after 28 minutes. Shankar Kumaraswamy's lack of experience almost gave Bergamot a goal after 36 minutes, but the shot went right into the keeper's arms. 37 minutes in, Langer's Stanisław Świtoń received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. Unfortunately for Bergamot, Domenico Cesareo was injured when the game became more physical, and he had to leave the field. Cesare Inversi replaced him. Good work by the Bergamot defensive line after 40 minutes produced a good counterattack chance, which cut elegantly down the middle of the pitch and found Enrico Mauro Felici Ridolfi alone in front of the goal, but his shot whistled just wide. Rakshan Kumar of Langer received a yellow card after 42 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour. 0 - 1 was the score after the first half. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Langer, with 55 percent of the ball.

Although the whole team were struggling to impress, Bergamot's Marco Marrazzo was singled out as being the problem as he was called off the pitch after 60 minutes. Antonio Brambilla was given a chance to change things around. With 64 minutes played, Ugo Scanferla of Bergamot fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee was unimpressed, and booked him for diving. After a fatal mistake from the away team's right side defence 71 minutes into the match, an alert Nicola Dalbon bagged the ball for Bergamot, levelling the score to 1 - 1. Bergamot could have put themselves ahead after 74 minutes but Antonio Brambilla missed a volley shot on a ball coming in from the right. 75 minutes into the game, Bergamot wanted to bring some new energy to their game. Davide Luigi Salici gave Stefano Stancarone a quick hug as he left the field. Some good play on the left wing created an opportunity for the visitors 76 minutes into the match, and Tamonash Kapoor wasn't about to let it go by. He got past the defenders and fired a shot that the keeper just missed. 1 - 2 for the visitors. After the ball was lifted in from the left, Tamonash Kapoor was on his own in the home side's penalty area and should have scored after 85 minutes, but missed, probably due to lack of concentration. Bergamot enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 52 percent of possession.

Stefano Stancarone performed admirably for Bergamot. Demetrio Cioncolini turned in a dismal performance, however. Most important Langer player was Patrick Garbeck. However, Aditya Sonkusare made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 1 - 2.
