Tricolor 2 - 0 Park

19018 spectators arrived at Estádio das Laranjeiras, where weather conditions were pretty good for football. was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Pierre Recour and Bastien Peschel. Tricolor started off with a 4-5-1 lineup. Lineup: Tarawaly - Hodgton, Martin, Ralson, Smithson - Rahim, Rutherford, Sweeney, Adkins, Viem - Lynch.

Park had chosen a strategic 4-5-1 formation. They fielded: Turner - Westbury, Mörnner, Scheding, Treacy - Veith, Foody, Kelly, Al-Ani, Mähr - Krotkowski.

Park immediately set off using their poor skill at pressing their opponents. Conrad Adkins gave Tricolor the lead as he successfully challenged the guests' central defenders, then slotted the ball into the bottom corner, giving the keeper no chance. 1 - 0 Tricolor's Abe 'Superstar' Lynch struck his penalty well enough to beat the goalkeeper and extend the home team's lead to 2 - 0 after 25 minutes. Given a free kick in a difficult position after 26 minutes, Park tried a variation that they had practised in training. The kick was sent into the area just in front of the keeper. However, the defence were on their toes and allowed no space for a finish. Halftime score was 2 - 0. Tricolor had most of the ball, with 64 percent of possession.

Abe 'Superstar' Lynch could have increased the lead after 55 minutes, but his shot hit the post after a nice combination in the middle of the park. With 72 minutes played, seemingly due to lack of experience, Mark Ralson needlessly tripped an opponent just outside the penalty area, but the free kick that followed didn't succeed. Park's Mahdi Al-Ani got himself booked for a foul. Possession in this half belonged to Tricolor, who controlled the ball 65 percent of the time.

The most dominating Tricolor player was without a doubt Abe 'Superstar' Lynch. Mushfiqur Rahim turned in a dismal performance, however. Park's best player was Christian Foody. On the other hand, Ivan Veith's play was disheartening. The match ends 2 - 0.
