Saxons 0 - 3 Sahura

1960 fans braved the pouring rain at The Burial Mound. Roger Fernández-Cuesta was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Jüri Rae and Tobias Peyer. A 5-5-0 alignment was the formation of choice for Saxons. The following players had been chosen: Głaszczka - Eliasen, á Nesi, Lambá, Haraldsen, Midjord - Næs, Korecki, Hansen, Jensen, í Nýggjustovu -.

Sahura started off with a 4-4-2 lineup. They fielded: Polak - Tsiolas, Meulemans, Søndrål, Fayek - Abd El Khalek, Huck, Uyaynah, Candelli - Variar, Hanebrink.

Sahura clearly had decided to counter-attack when they could, taking advantage of their brilliant level with that tactic. Óla Jákup Næs slipped and slithered in the wet grass. His usual rapid runs were nowhere to be seen today. As the 5 minute mark approached, the Sahura coach decided it was time for a substitution. Muhammad Abd El Khalek reluctantly made way for Fuad 'The Enforcer' Bin-Jaber on the pitch. Good work by the Sahura defensive line after 19 minutes produced a good counterattack chance, which cut elegantly down the middle of the pitch and found Thadäus Huck alone in front of the goal, but his shot whistled just wide. After 20 minutes, the Sahura coach wanted to see a new face on the pitch, waving Janis Hanebrink off the field. Michal Štěpán took his place. Tomasz Głaszczka looked great 24 minutes into the match after stopping a shot from the middle of the penalty area from the visitors' Martin 'Atheling' Søndrål. The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave Yiannis 'The Mummy' Tsiolas from Sahura a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 30 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! The visitors could have taken the lead from a free kick after 36 minutes, if it wasn't for the jaw-dropping save by Tomasz Głaszczka. The home crowd was not impressed by the fancy moves of Sahura's Michal Štěpán after 39 minutes. He converted a pass from the left for a goal, resulting in the visitors taking the 0 - 1 lead. Halftime score was 0 - 1. Saxons enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 52 percent of possession.

Given a free kick close to the byline, Sahura tried a move that loyal fans may recognise from training. A pass to the side pulled the defence out of position which let Michal Štěpán slip through on goal. He didn't have to break his stride, and slipped the ball past the keeper to make it 0 - 2, 55 minutes into the game. Confident in their lead, Sahura's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it. With 58 minutes played, Lesław Korecki of Saxons fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee was unimpressed, and booked him for diving. After 73 minutes, Mohammad 'The Outsider' Uyaynah sent the corner kick right to Martin 'Atheling' Søndrål who headed it sharply past the keeper. 0 - 3! The Sahura players could smell victory in the air. Mohammad 'The Outsider' Uyaynah wasn't in a hurry to leave the field as he was substituted for Azmi Hamdan after 80 minutes. As Mohammad 'The Outsider' Uyaynah exited the field, Yiannis 'The Mummy' Tsiolas volunteered to be the new set pieces taker. Thighs bulging, Gunnstein Midjord charged past the weaker players, seemingly oblivious to the rain. Possession in this half belonged to Saxons, who controlled the ball 51 percent of the time.

Saxons's top performer was clearly Gunnstein Midjord. Lesław Korecki on the other hand, had a terrible day. The most dominating Sahura player was without a doubt Venkat 'Warrior' Variar. On the other hand, Azmi Hamdan's play was disheartening. The match ends 0 - 3.
