MSO 0 - 1 Park

1708 fans braved the pouring rain at MS Park. was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Giovanni Schiereichen and . MSO tactics involved an interesting 5-4-1 combination. The following players had been chosen: Duve - Hawa, Kriutz, Baggio, Kurbanov, Borgström - Comănescu, Queiroz, Alexiev, Tomkowski - Luccarini.

Park decided to use a 3-5-2 set up. Starters: Vastbinder - Clegg, Rance, Bramble - Khan, Langø, Branderberg, Mahler, Ritchens - Csutak, Mähr.

Park was determined to use their excellent long shot ability. The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave Micah Bramble from Park a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 10 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! Georgi Alexiev, who often relies on his speed, had a rotten day on the drenched grass. A free kick aimed at the keeper's far post almost gave Park the lead 32 minutes in, but the ball just wasn't able to squirm its way through the defensive wall. Tommy Borgström couldn't do anything to stop the technically gifted Guntbert Mähr as he dodged past on his way to scoring a wonderful goal for Park - 0 - 1! Halftime score was 0 - 1. Possession in this half belonged to MSO, who controlled the ball 55 percent of the time.

With 57 minutes gone, a long pass from the defence of Park resulted in a counterattack that set Sohail Khan free through the middle, but the keeper made a spectacular diving save. 64 minutes into the game, MSO seemed a little tentative in their play as their organization fell to weak. With 67 minutes played, Paolo 'Goldenboy' Baggio of MSO fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee was unimpressed, and booked him for diving. 72 minutes in, MSO appeared unsure on how to play and their organisation was only weak. Eugeniusz Tomkowski was having a great game - if anything the pouring rain seemed to be spurring him on! Park's Gunnar Langø's long shot really ought to have found the net 86 minutes into the match, but it fell just wide of the target. After 88 minutes, MSO's Georgi Alexiev fell awkwardly, but was determined to stay in the match. That's the spirit! The Park players could smell victory in the air. Stuart Clegg wasn't in a hurry to leave the field as he was substituted for Desmond Kelly after 89 minutes. The coach of Park was happy with the game so far, but still wanted to change the line up. After 89 minutes, Alan Busby came on for Caleb Ritchens. Micah Bramble left the field with a smile on his face as he was substituted 89 minutes into the game, as his team was in the lead. Russell Turner was the replacement. Park enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 53 percent of possession.

The most dominating MSO player was without a doubt Cid Queiroz. Meyir Kurbanov was a disappointment, however. Tim Vastbinder performed admirably for Park. On the other hand, Sohail Khan's play was disheartening. The match ends 0 - 1.
