Tricolor 2 - 0 Park

A scorching day at Estádio das Laranjeiras, where 12000 spectators were in place for today's match. was the appointed referee with assistance provided by and Saša Šragalj. Tricolor started off with a 5-4-1 lineup. They fielded: Tarawaly - Hodgton, Sneesby, Martin, Ralson, Smithson - Palmer, Wisco, Pilarski, Gomez - Okada.

Park tactics involved an interesting 4-5-1 combination. Lineup: Burl - Bramble, Rance, Lietzen, Clegg - Caggiula, Mahler, Branderberg, Foody, Ritchens - Csutak.

Tricolor saw most attack opportunities on the wings, taking advantage of their outstanding level with that tactic. Park was determined to use their weak long shot ability. Ryan Burl would have preferred to play on, but his coach decided otherwise. Tim Vastbinder entered the game for Park as the match clock showed 1 minutes. Tricolor got a penalty shot 9 minutes into the game, but Folke Pilarski scuffed the shot slightly and Tim Vastbinder was able to block. 25 minutes in, Park's Orlando Rance received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. The referee showed Tricolor's Boris Martin the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. Park's Caleb Ritchens left the field after 40 minutes because of a nasty blow to the shin. His replacement was Kevin Westbury. Razak 'Unstoppable' Inam was called on to replace Tricolor's Steve Okada after 43 minutes following a nasty collision. It was 0 - 0 at the break. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Tricolor, with 58 percent of the ball.

As usual, Chris Sneesby tried to use his strength and hard work for the benefit of the team, but the heat hit him hard and he couldn't keep pace at all. After 65 minutes, the Tricolor coach wanted to see a new face on the pitch, waving Julien Gomez off the field. Abe 'Superstar' Lynch took his place. 65 minutes into the match, the referee signalled for a Tricolor substitution. Angus Buchanan came on for Folke Pilarski. The home side put themselves ahead 1 - 0 after 72 minutes courtesy of a breakthrough from Razak 'Unstoppable' Inam, who scored with a stunning volley following a cross from the right wing. The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave Abe 'Superstar' Lynch from Tricolor a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 80 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! A loud groan was heard from the fans of Park, as György Mahler left the pitch in too much pain to finish the match. Desmond Kelly took his place on the field. It was obvious that Tricolor had instructions to attack on the wings instead of in the middle. A speedy charge from the left side of the field increased the lead of Tricolor to 2 - 0 as Abe 'Superstar' Lynch finished it off competently, firing in from an acute angle. With 85 minutes played, Tricolor's Alexei Smithson almost extended the lead, but his shot from the left glanced off the top of the bar to fall behind the net. Tricolor had most of the ball, with 66 percent of possession.

Tricolor's best player was Angus Buchanan. On the other hand, Alexander Hodgton's play was disheartening. The most dominating Park player was without a doubt Tim Vastbinder. However, Barnaba Caggiula made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 2 - 0.
